Early apostolic times were characterized by a greater personal intimacy and involvement of the whole Christian community in sharing and proclaiming Jesus' vision and message.  The practical spirituality growing out of such committed and concerned human interrelationships is the foundation upon which Christendom was built.  This fact was the single most visible trait to be found among early Christians.  It continues to provide the setting for a truth now central to Orthodoxy — that a personal relationship with God is possible, attainable and, indeed, our spiritual inheritance.

The radical spiritual message of Jesus Christ is that every member of the community of believers may experience an intimate friendship with Almighty God.  We of the Inclusive Orthodox clergy seek to offer a pastoral approach that assists each member develop a practical and personal spirituality.  The mystical experience of transformation is freely offered by God to all persons willing to surrender their guilt to redemption.

The twenty-first century brings us new possibilities and challenges in Christian spirituality.  Many Christians are searching sincerely for a spirituality that introduces the mystical, yet matches the reality of their lives.

  • Couples who have divorced, as well as the happily married

  • Persons who share alternative lifestyles, as well as ones who are traditional

  • Those who disagree with one another about fractious political and religious issues

  • Dedicated single parents and those whose families have abandoned them

  • Young adults and the sadly discarded elderly

  • Gays and lesbians and those who live celibate lives

All of these believers need a ministrywhich fosters a unity of faiththat express acceptance, and delivers and encompasses the Love of God.

Many believers have become alienated from their churches and are now not receiving Christian ministry.  This is frequently due to judgmental and rude reactions they have experienced from other Christians and the clergy.  Such persons are failing in their faith,

For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost.

Luke 19:10

New Revised Standard Version

The Inclusive Orthodox Church ministers to these people and more, and we ask you to join with us in recognizing that the Grace of the Holy Spirit is open to everyone, no matter how great their faults, appearance or differences in lifestyle.
