2009 Paschal Message of the Apostolic President

Noli me tangere, meaning "don't touch me", is the Latin version of words spoken by Jesus to Mary Magdalene after his resurrection,as spoken in the Holy Gospel according to Saint John. (John 20:17)In the Name of the X Father and of the X Son and of the X Holy Spirit.  We greet you on this the solemnity of the Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Christ lives through his Church, which is his Mystical Body.  We Christians are his hands and feet, his voice, and his ministers.  By our example we show others that Christ is indeed alive within and among us.  It does not matter how much we have sinned, how different we are, that we are misunderstood, or poor, or lonely.

As children of God, through the sanctity bestowed by Baptism we have been raised up to become like Christ.  In conquering death Christ is leading us toward the Light of Light, True God of True God.  Our lives will never be the same.  This does not mean that each of us will not face the struggles, sufferings and pain that our love of God and one another bring us, since with Christ we are pilgrims on the same path.  For by his death and resurrection, through his unfailing love of his Father, Jesus made us sons and daughters of the Almighty Creator and opened to us the treasury of blessings and promises of heaven.

God is calling us.  The power of the Holy Spirit is filling our hearts and reaching the faithful — those alienated and marginalized by society.  We must bring this message of hope that Jesus brought us to the world — His message is the good news — that by Faith our Baptism has brought us salvation.  This is our baptismal birthright and our eternal life in the grace of Christ is assured.

We all fall.  We each have faults.  Today, be sorry for those you have hurt in the past and forgive those who have hurt you, but above all have FAITH, and grow in HOPE and LOVE, because these are the qualities of the Children of God.

Alleluia!  Christ is risen!  God be praised now and ever and unto ages of ages.  Amen.
